So you think you’re cold!!!
This is TEAM GATORSKINS on January 29th 2011 running the Kahtoola Winter Bigfoot 50K Marathon at Wasatch Mountain State Park in Midway Utah.
This is a 26.2 mile marathon that was run, in the snow, in 15 degree temperatures at an elevation of 5,000 feet that increases to 6,000 feet – IN SNOWSHOES!!!
Talk about having fun on the weekend.
The team leader of Team Gatorskins, told us that Gatorskins were the only clothing worn by the team and they worked remarkably well. The Gatorskins kept them warm throughout the entire 7 – 9 hour race and wicked their sweat continually, keeping the wet cold from seeping in.
Excellent temperature regulation.
Also, the smooth, light fabric facilitated movement and negated the need for layer upon layer of other garments.
Note in the pictures that the team members are only wearing Gatorskin shirts and pants and a Team Gatorskin T-shirt over top. All of the team removed their T-shirts when running the race. The other runners are wearing winter coats and layer upon layer of clothing.
How is that for impressive heat retention!!!
The amazing heat distribution and sweat wicking capabilities of Gatorskins took care of Team Gatorskins for the entire 26 miles.
Team Gatorskins co-captain, won the ladies division of the Bigfoot Snowshoe race with a time of 7 hrs. 39 min. Congratulations!
Watch for more extreme outdoor activities from Team Gatorskins.
