My name is Mike Potts and I live in the UK. I left the Armed Services about 5 years ago and trained as a climber arborist (tree surgeon) before I left. Whilst I am now back at university studying for another change in career direction, I still work occasionally as a climber arborist to earn some spending money and because I enjoy it. I took a chance on a complete unknown brand to me and bought one of your thermal shirts 5 years ago or so for my month-long training course, expecting it to get shredded within a few weeks. I’m still using the same shirt! Attached is a picture of me out working in Dunblane, Scotland, near where I am living. The rain was hammering down and wind was blowing but I was still warm. Perhaps more importantly, the shirt durability is unbelievable: you can imagine the battering it gets climbing trees, carrying branches and working with chainsaws, climbing and cutting equipment. This is basically the perfect bad weather top for tree surgery. Thanks guys!
Just wanted to let you know how much I am impressed with how fast I got the order! I don’t care how you want to use this but being stationed here in Korea for the us army the product not only gives me comfort while I’m riding my Harley into work but all day while I’m outside in the elements. But to get this product as fast as I did from order to actually having it in my hands was amazing. I will spread the word trust me.

Wow! This stuff is great. I’ve been looking for a product just like this for a long time. I like to ride when it is cold. I also like to ride during those marginal times when it starts of very cold in the morning but warms up enough that you end up needing lighter gear later in the day. A GatorSkins shirt and my mesh jacket work great together. I wish I had bought the pants, the gloves and the neck warmer. How about adding socks to the line. The older I get the more tempted I am to get heated gear but with a full set of GatorSkins I might just not be tempted next winter.
I just received my Skins, pants, tops, Glove liners and neck. I am a fair weather rider and don’t go out if it gets down around 50 degrees. Today it was around 38 so I figured this would be a good test. I dressed in a T-shirt sweatshirt, jeans, light chaps and my leather jacket, and of course the complete set of GatorSkins. Normally at this temp. I may get a mile or so. Today I did about 30 miles. I was very comfortable except for my finger tips, which would not have made it much further. Had it not been for my fingers I don’t know how far I could have gone. I may need to break down and buy a pair of electric gloves if I’m going to do much more cold weather riding. I am very happy with the GatorSkins and would highly recommend them. Do you plan on getting them in socks?
Gloves warm hands better than anything I’ve used, but the stitching was loose on inside palm.
I found my answer! Just received my glove liners and can’t believe how good they are! Wore them under leather gloves while shoveling snow and then playing in the snow with my son and hands never got cold. Can wait to see what they feel like under my motorcycle gloves while riding as I’ve been searching for something on the cold days that aren’t bulky.
Warm. The shirt is warm even in windy conditions. I use it for work as a base layer. I love that it’s lite and very flexable. It didn’t shrink in the wash either. I’ve had it a year now and plan on getting another one. One isn’t enough.
This stuff works. I have used gator skins for a couple of years now. I ride all year long and work construction. I wear them to ride and work and they truely do the job as advertised. I highly recomend them to anyone for any outdoor activety. Mark J
Fits as shown in your ad, not sure its is keeping me any warmer than a long sleave shirt for the money, maybe it’s too tight I don’t think its any tighter than my t-shirts as I compared the fit, whats your thoughts?
First off I want to give a shout out to Mike..Had a shipping snafu and Mike was all over it and very much a gentleman and we got it resolved..Second the DAY after me and my wife received our sets we got to test them..We had rain AND snow and high 40 degree temps here in Wyoming… for the fun of it haha ..We went out for a short ride with just our shirts on top and levis and pants on bottom. At 48 degrees we rode in a light drizzle of snow/rain mix for about 20 mins..The shirts are DEFINITELY water repellent as neither of us got wet under the shirts and they are VERY warm we could have used a jacket due just to wind chill but for just using the shirts we were warm and dry..I will give GatorSkins a 12 Star rating if that was a choice..GREAT investment and worth every penny I recommend them to ANYONE who rides..PERIOD…Top notch people and product. Mike ..GREAT JOB P Dorigatti

GatorSkins WOW…I received my GatorSkins Pants, Top, and glove inserts. I put them on and went for a ride in the rain and 40 degrees. I have never been warmer and drier. I would recommend GatorSkins over heated liners…much cheaper.
Review of gator skins mens shirt I have had this shirt for two years and it still does exactly as advertised. It keeps me warm in the Illinois Spring and Fall weather when I’m out riding. A friend borrowed mine and had to get one. Also the neck gator is second to none!
Thanks GatorSkins – 26.2 miles on snowshoes in hilly, mountainous terrain and 15 degree temps is bad- but at least we weren’t cold or overloaded with layers of clothing. GatorSkins kept us just warm enough to focus on the miles but not too warm where we got uncomfortable or overheated. NO CHAFFING!!!! When the snow levels got high and the pants got wet, they dried quickly and maintained their temperature control…we were thoroughly impressed by the performance, comfort and overall feel of the pants and shirts and look forward to wearing them on our next winter adventure.

awesome I ride a victory vegas without a wind shield. I rode in 24 degree temperature and my legs and body felt like i was laying on the beach with a cool summer breeze blowing. this clothing is amazingly warm and i have recommended it to all of my biker friends. IT WORKS!!!! I plan on buying the gloves next as that was the only part of my body not covered and my fingers were frozen.
gator gear is great MC rider here….and this gear is an instant favorite…a real gotta have…works..feels and looks great high 50s to low 80s and wit a bit of leather just peachy.
Amazing! Somewhere around the month of November 2010 i tried out my buddies heated Jacket and decided I needed one so i can ride year round. Another friend had GatorSkins and swore by them. After some digging I decided to go with the GatorSkins …. BEST THING EVER! I Went skiing in negative 15 degree weather and was warm! Then I got the Motorcycle out in 38 Degree weather and it was great! I have the bacalave, gloves, shirt, pants and socks, so far the best investment in cold weather gear I have ever made. Thanks! ps- you should have a facebook page so the word will get out faster about your gear!
Amazing! 24 Feb 11 Wed – Rain – Cool – 1425 Salutations, Your shirts are amazing! The weather has been unseasonably cold this winter in California. Layering is okay, but once you stop or go indoors, you over-heat. I am also one who bucks the ever-increasing trend of more electronics and wires just to enjoy the simple pleasure of motorcycle riding or daily life. I wasn’t quite sure what to expect, but your product surprised me. It didn’t make me warm so much as it KEPT me warm! I even wore it during exercise, and though it kept me dry, like other wicking clothing, it surprisingly absorbed the sticky residue normally left behind on my skin. Unbelievable! They don’t look like much out of the wrapper, but once you put them on, they stretch and move with you. They have a shape and texture that’s flattering. Thank you for inventing such a fine product!

My GatorSkins story My GatorSkins story. I’m a Ducati rider, which means that I end up driving my motorcycle a little faster than the law suggests. At the same time, I’m kind of a wuss when it comes to dealing with the cold while riding and living in Portland, Oregon offers a huge challenge to my comfort at speeds in excess of eighty miles per hour. Obviously, the best way to deal with this challenge is gear (a part of the joy of riding a sport bike is the gear!), but gear can get incredibly expensive really, really quickly, which inherently poses a challenge in itself, unless you’re independently wealthy! So my challenge this winter (after losing my job and joining the masses of the unemployed) was to find a way to continue riding, in relative comfort, without spending an arm and a leg to do so. I’ll tell you straight out that for most of the winter, I didn’t ride! I was discussing my challenge with a friend of mine and he told me about GatorSkins. I didn’t rush out and get the skins and start riding immediately, I read up on them, priced them out and, quite frankly, didn’t believe that a wind blocking shirt that was half the price of the D*@#*@e (I don’t think I should list the brand) shirt with “Windstopper” fabric, that I had been looking at, but couldn’t afford to purchase, would actually work! I didn’t get the GS shirt until I went to visit that same friend in Salt Lake City a day after he, his wife, his nephew and his brother ran a full 26.2 mile, snowshoe marathon, only wearing Gator Skins, at the end of January! That is what convinced me to try the GatorSkins shirt while riding the motorcycle. Had I bought the shirt at the beginning of winter, I would have been riding all season! The first day I put the shirt on and went for a ride it was 41 degrees and cloudy, an absolutely glorious day in the Pacific Northwest, essentially, any winter day without rain is a glorious day in Oregon. I wear an, armored, perforated leather, jacket while riding, and in the rain I throw a rain shell over it, as it wasn’t raining and because I wanted to test the shirt, all I wore for the ride was the GatorSkins shirt under my perforated jacket. In the interest of full disclosure, I did wear a fleece neckie and I packed my backpack with another long sleeve shirt, a high collared fleece with “Windstopper” fabric and the rain shell, as it also blocks the wind. I never needed to stop to put on any of the extra clothes I had brought with me during that first fifty-five minute ride! The GatorSkins kept my core warm for the entire ride, they are incredible, by the end of the ride my only issue was that I only had a shirt and no GatorSkins pants, which I am rectifying. I strongly suggest GatorSkins to any one who rides, whether you ride a Harley or a crotch rocket! Erik Oberholtzer: Ducati Rider
GatorSkins are GREAT! Southern California had a cold wet winter this year. I purchased a new Ducati over the summer and wasn’t willing to stop riding when it got cold. I came across a review of GatorSkins in Cycle World magazine and ordered a shirt and pants. The price of the shirt seemed high but I can tell you that they exceeded my expectations. They are so comfortable that I now wear them to lounge around the house at night. The pants have a wide elastic waist band that is very comfortable for extended wear. The shirt is extra long to is doesn’t pull out of my riding pants. The biggest surprise is how stretchy they are. They just seem to stay put without binding or chafing. I will be purchasing the Balaclava and another set of shirtspants for next winter. Thanks! Michael Michael Hubbard Rancho Cucamonga, CA 4/27/2011 I just purchased your shirt about two weeks ago and living in Las Vegas this time of the year is around 100 degrees, I couldn’t wait to see how it works in the winter while riding my motorcycle. To my surprise I did get to wear it this past weekend for the 10 year anniversary 911 Motorcycle Rally here in Las Vegas. My route took me up the hills to Goodsprings, NV which is where I encountered cooler weather with rain and hail. Your shirt made my 90 mile trip a lot more comfortable in those conditions. Thank you for a awesome product. Shawn Muehlbauer
I’ve been riding for better part of 20 yrs and would need to leather up w/ regular thermals or just plain bundle up with layers. I looked like that kid from Xmas story movie. Well I just gave away some of my layers to goodwill and got rid of my regular thermals. My gatorskin works better then what I thought it would do I kept an open mind about it and am very happy riding with less but still being warm. I went with the sites recommendation on size fitment and happy with it’s fit.

I just wanted to let you know how much I love my thermal shirt and pants. My wife Joyce and I rode to Sturgis this year from San Diego, CA. Though it was hot on the way up, Joyce and I ran into cold weather on the way home. We left the rally and headed west to the Oregon coast. Starting southbound in Astoria it wasn’t long before we hit chilly foggy coastal weather. The combination of damp fog, coastal winds and low ocean temps made this part of our ride bone-chilling cold. I put the GatorSkins thermal shirt on under my leather jacket in the morning just before we left. In minutes I was warm and comfortable. I never got cold after that even though we rode all day in cold damp conditions. By the time we reached Newport, OR I was a believer. This is the best thermal garment I’ve ever worn, bar none. I just ordered another thermal shirt for myself and one for my wife. If her shirt fits, I’ll be ordering a few more items. Thanks again for offering a superior product! Good Luck,
San Diego, CA
Made the mistake of letting my son use it on a cold riding day. Couldn’t get it back. Buying another for me. Everything advertised and more! Highly recommended. John Piatt
I bought the shirt and paints, my local dealer was out of larger glove liners. Raining and temps in the low 40’s… My ride was about 90-minutes, and when I got home I was dry and warm. Will take a little to get used to, feel like a house wrapped in Tyvek, and I’m still a title skeptical about the durability of the product… But, I was warm and dry, and since I live in the Portland Oregon area, that is the most important thing to me. As I’m getting older, the cold was starting to out-weigh the enjoyment of being an all-year rider. I’m feeling confident the GatorSkins will make that a non-issue. Thank you!
